GENDER EQUALITY DUTY:

How can the Men's Health Forum help?

"The EOC has drawn on the Men's Health Forum's expertise to help develop its work on the gender equality duty. The Forum has a unique insight into gender and men's issues and can offer sound advice and support to other organisations working in this rapidly developing field." Jenny Watson, chair, Equal Opportunities Commission.

poster The Men's Health Forum has been working with the 4.7MB version, the 4.7MB version, the 4.7MB version and others on the development of the Equality Act and its duties.

We have a considerable track-record of designing health policy and practical interventions which are effective in communicating health messages to men and widening their participation in health services.

We can offer you help and support in the following areas:

  • Resources designed to appeal to men (such as our 4.7MB version, customised health information booklets) and signposting to other available resources.
  • Customised web-portals enabling you to target men with the MHF's information. Here's an example of one we created for 4.7MB version.
  • Details of evidence-based good practice about delivering services to men. For example, the work done by NHS Sefton, see Resources and links.
  • Regular updates on men's health policy and practice.
  • Advice about how to consult with men about service development.
  • Training on gender and men's health.
  • Tailored consultancy on implementing the gender duty.
