Lads' mags in poor health

The lads mags don't appear to be offering the modern male the sort of read he wants. Their circulation figures are down by 2.3% on last year.

The big losses are being suffered by the monthlies with FHM down 14%, Maxim down 19% and Esquire down 24%. At this rate the sector could be dead in five years.

On the other hand, the health-related titles are up — Men's Health by 1.9% and Men's Fitness by 5.7%. In a recent survey on malehealth, 96.7% of readers say they would be more likely to buy men's magazines if they contained good quality health information. Is it about time the lads mags editors took notice?
