Work Fit goes fourth!

The MHF's Work Fit project came fourth out of 1500 entrants when the prestigious NHS Live Award category in the DH Health and Social Care Awards 2006 was presented earlier this week.

It was beaten by three excellent small community projects working with very disadvantaged groups. Indeed, the MHF were the only national charity to be nominated for any of the award categories - a real tribute to the innovative nature of Work Fit.

MHF CEO Peter Baker said: 'I am delighted that Work Fit was one of four finalists for the NHS Live Award. To have been selected from some 1,500 applicants was a huge achievement and, even though we didn't win, we were the only national charity to have been shortlisted for any of the DH Health and Social Care Awards. I am very proud of that the work we did in partnership with BT, the National Obesity Forum, Roche Products, the CWU and Connect has been recognized in this way.'
