MHF chair of trustees Alan White was on hand to explain men's health when Jeremy Hunt, the secretary of state for Culture, Media and Sport visited Headingley Carnegie Stadium in Leeds.
Professor White, right, who founded the Centre for Men's Health at Leeds Metropolitan University played a key role in setting up the 'Tackling Men's Health' campaign in which students and staff offer health checks at the stadium for the supporters of the Leeds Rhinos, Leeds Carnegie and Yorkshire Cricket. Other activities include smoking cessation groups and weight loss campaigns.
Alan White, who told the minister about the MHF's million man initiative and gave him a mini manual, said: 'Getting the message to the Secretary of State that a million men more active will have a significant impact on the health and wellbeing of the whole population will hopefully reinforce the importance of locality based initiatives working with men through sport and leisure services.'
Jeremy Hunt, left, was visiting the stadium as part of a tour of the region's sports facilities.
