Symposium shows how to deliver at work

The Men's Health and Work expert symposium attracted over 50 men's health and workplace health specialists to Royal Mail's Mount Pleasant conference centre in London this week.

This event was the latest in MHF's series of symposiums looking at what we know, what we need to know and what the policy needs to be for action to improve male health in specific areas.

Richard ParishThe event was hosted by Royal Mail Group and was chaired by Professor Richard Parish, the chief executive of the Royal Society for Public Health, right. Professor Dame Carol Black, the government's national director for health and work, gave the keynote speech and there were case study presentations on small and medium sized businesses and on the role of the NHS.

MHF CEO Peter Baker thanked those present for their expertise, he said 'The experience of people at the meeting in delivering men's health initiatives and public health in the workplace shows it can be done and can make a real difference. The conclusions of discussions at the symposium will direct MHF's work on this issue and will form the basis of a report which we will use to press for the kind of work we heard about to become commonplace.'

Peter thanked the event's sponsors Atos Healthcare, the Department of Health, Health Work Well-being and Royal Mail Group.
