MHF welcomes psychologists' suicide consultation response

The Forum have welcomed the British Psychological Society's response to the government's consultation on a national suicide prevention strategy.

The MHF also responded in its own right to the consultation, which ended yesterday.

MHF CEO Peter Baker said: 'This an excellent paper from the BPS. It has clearly been written by psychologists with a real interest in and understanding of men and of male mental health. It looks at the male-specific issues around suicide making it a really useful document to have.'

The MHF's approach to male suicide is inevitably broader, looking at the wider social factors and the sociological research in the field as well as the psychological aspects.
