Join new database of public health workers

Researchers at Leeds Met University are trying put together a database of people working in public health - please sign up.

Jane South, reader in Health Promotion, explains: 'The People in Public Health study is independent research commissioned by the National Institute for Health Research Service Delivery and Organisation programme. It is being undertaken to improve our understanding of approaches to support lay people in public health roles. We want to find out about the different ways people are involved and what health services can do to recruit, develop and support them.

'We aim to find out as much as possible about what is happening in practice and also give people the opportunity to link into this national study.'

Jane and her colleagues are inviting individuals and organisations to give brief details of any projects or schemes involving lay people - ie. non-health professionals.

This will eventually become a searchable database to promote shared learning about these types of approaches. There is also a section if you would only like to receive information about the progress of People in Public Health.
