MHF backs mental well-being event in Greenwich

The MHF is backing Greenwich Council's free event to raise awareness of mental well-being.

Taking place at Woolwich Town Hall on Friday 11 February, the MHF’s David Wilkins will present a seminar entitled ‘A review of the essential issues in the mental health of men and boys’. This follows the publication the MHF’s recent 'Delivering Male: Effective Practice in Male Mental Health'.

The MHF have been working closely with Greenwich Council on the Department of Health Strategic Partnership project, particularly in the foundation of the Greenwich Men’s Health Forum.

'Committment to men's health in Greenwich'

Áine Duggan, Strategic Partnership Officer at the Forum said: ‘Greenwich have already shown their commitment to promoting men’s health across the voluntary and statutory sectors in establishing the Greenwich Men’s Health Forum. We are very pleased to be able to contribute to this innovative event and to highlight the issues surrounding men’s mental health’.

Anyone with an interest in mental well-being is welcome to come to the event. There will be more than 30 stalls offering information and advice on services and resources from a wide variety of organisations and on a wide variety of subjects including Depression, Ayurvedic Massage therapy, Anxiety, Postnatal Depression, Health Promotion, Stress, Dementia, Safeguarding, Dignity, Advocacy and Counselling.
