A new organisation that aims to push men's issues further up the political agenda has been set up by the MHF and other leading not-for-profits.
The Men's Coalition brings the Forum together with Respect, Fathers Direct, the Men's Advice Line, Relate, the Research Unit on Men and Masculinities at Bradford University, NCH and the White Ribbon Campaign in a new body that 'aims to put issues of concern to men and boys such as health, parenting and caring, relationships, education, employment crime and violence firmly on the public policy agenda'.
Funded by the Home Office and backedby the Government Equalities Office, the Coalition launches at the Greater London Assembly building today.
MHF CEO Peter Baker, who is also chair of the Coalition said: 'This is an important development for the UK's men since it represents a huge step forward in the profile of "men's issues", particularly with the government. Our initial priority will be to conduct a mapping exercise of the issues facing men and boys to help determine priorities and a work programme.'
