All party support for men's health at work

Despite the financial crisis, nearly 100 MPs have found time to sign the MHF-backed early day motion on men and work in the House of Commons.

Howard Stoate Posted by Dr Howard Stoate MP, the chair of the all party group on men's health, in June to mark men's health week, the motion has now been signed by 93 MPs of all parties.

The motion welcomes the Men's Health Forum's National Men's Health Week 2008 focusing on men's health at work and calls for:

  • investment by business and the NHS in initiatives that deliver male friendly health improvements services in the workplace,
  • the government to create a more flexible NHS in which services such as screening and basic health checks could be taken into the workplace.

The motion has attracted genuinely all-party support with signatories from the Labour Party, Liberal Democrats, Conservative Party, Democratic Unionist Party, Plaid Cymru Social Democratic and Labour Party and even an independent and an independent Labour.
