New leaflet on BPH

Drug company Boehringer Ingelheim have produced a leaflet for men's health professionals about benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) - non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate gland.

The leaflet Annoying Pee Problems outlines symptoms, possible self-help and lifestyle changes and drug treatments. It is aimed at those running men's health clinics wherever they may be - in the surgery, workplace, pub or club.

MHF president Dr Ian Banks said: 'Anything which encourages men to make better use of primary care services has to be welcomed. Embarrassing conditions like the enlarged prostate, traditionally an area of delayed diagnosis, may now be treated sooner and at the same time bring men in earlier contact with health professionals.’
