Prostate cancer month: a team for Max impact

The Prostate Cancer Charity have lined up an impressive cross-section of celebrities to mark their first ever awareness-raising month — as opposed to week - under the banner Prostate Cancer Matters.

bannerThe Charity's CEO John Neate says: 'Extending our annual awareness week to a month long campaign is a considerable development for The Prostate Cancer Charity. By giving ourselves — and those who support our work — more time to raise awareness throughout the whole of March, we stand a better chance of making a greater impact and reaching out to more people during the awareness campaign. The move will also offer support groups, healthcare professionals and volunteers running their own events more flexibility in scheduling.'

The charity are running 5-a-side football tournament at Wembley on 14 March fronted by former Crystal Palace and Sheffield Wednesday striker turned pundit Mark Bright.

The Snows Joining the Charity's celebrity line-up are poet Benjamin Zephaniah, 'media personality' Neil Fox, rugby-player Andy Ripley and actress Zoe Wannamaker whose father died of prostate cancer.

The obligatory underpants shot, right, is provided by the Snows — political pundit Peter, his son Dan and cousin Jon, the Channel 4 presenter who is also an MHF patron.

It's an impressive squad and perhaps the reason for it is another member of the celeb team: Max Clifford, the publicist, who has had prostate cancer himself and is a backer of PSA testing.
