Seventeen pharmacies in the Leeds and Bradford area are taking part in the practical pilot phase of the MHF's Men & Pharmacy project.
A mixture of both independents and chains, they'll be offering health advice and information to local Royal Mail staff as part of the Forum's project to explore how men in the workplace can be encouraged to make better use of the pharmacy.
The pilot runs until early May after which there will be a period of evaluation culminating in a written report of the project's findings in the summer.
Stephen Sibbald, the MHF's Director of Operations said: 'We believe that the pharmacy offers a real alternative for men in terms of providing health advice and information and that the workplace provides a perfect means of delivery for this type of health promotion. This project will show us exactly how to do this.'
The MHF will also stage a policy symposium based on the outcomes early in 2009.
